Welcome to Spun Out, the baby of a compulsive obbsessive fibre junkie (that's me in case you wondered!).  My name is Emma Gerring and I am the proud owner of The Wool Shack, where we have been offering Australia high quality yarns and accessories you never knew you couldn't live without, since 2001. 

I am a recent spinner, and so far the only spinner in our store (although it won't be long before I get the girls totally hooked).  I started with a wheel, after several lessons from a very dear friend, and I also became smitten with spindles, as this meant I could spin in the car (when Hubby was driving) or at the park, or when watching the kids at their swimming lessons!  Fibre has now pretty much taken over my life, with raw fleeces, dyes, roving, numerous wheels and an obscene amount of spindles battling for space in my home.

My desire to start up Spun Out, was driven by the spinning community that was opening up to me.  I wanted to share the love (and obsession) and source the finest spinning paraphernalia from around the world, to bring to your doorstep.

I am always on hand (via email or phone) to talk spinning with you, so do contact me for advice or a chat.

Both Spun Out and The Wool Shack are operating out of the same office, and when you call or email us, Jemma, Kathleen and myself will be the ones to help you.  All transactions will appear on your account as The Wool Shack, so don't panic if you see that name on your bank statement.  We decided to create a separate website for Spun Out to avoid confusion and let the spinners of Australia browse everything spinning related, and there is a handy link to The Wool Shack if you need a pair of needles.  We can always combine a Wool Shack and Spun Out order, to save on postage, so just ask!
