Product Description

The wool in this batt is taken from Joan's flock, using various breeds from Joan's flock and blended with Tussah Silk and Silk Noil!

 

This blend will produce an extremely textured yarn - it's designed that way! Do not try to spin in any other way, let it create its own nubs and slubs.

 

Spinning suggestions from Joan:-

 

Slightly pre draft the roving. This does two things: it makes the roving draft easier during spinning and informs you of which end drafts better. Move your hand from colour to colour while you are spinning to mix the variegation in your finished yarn. Spin relatively thinly to bring out the different colours and silk. After spinning, wash in warm water, with a tiny amount of dish soap. Squish with your hands to bloom the yarn. Do not soak the skein, this is a quick wash and rinse. Rinse in cold water, wring and snap the yarn several times on a hard flat surface. Hang to dry.
